Backing first home buyers The Albanese Labor Government is helping more locals buy their first home sooner, including through Labor’s 5 per cent deposit arrangements. Since we came to government, 1,352 Australians have bought their first home in Fowler with support through Labor’s 5% Deposit Scheme. Building more homes in Fowler The Albanese Labor Government is investing in 371 more social and affordable homes in across the electorate, as part of its investment in 9,400 more social and affordable homes across New South Wales. In Fowler, that delivery includes: • Support for 23 social and affordable homes through the Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF). • Delivery of 338 social and affordable homes through Housing Australia’s grants and low cost financing. • Delivery of 10 social homes through the Social Housing Accelerator Program across the Fairfield and Liverpool Local Government Areas. Delivering rent relief for renters The Albanese Labor Government is also making it better to rent—because too many households are under pressure from rising costs. We’ve boosted Commonwealth Rent Assistance by more than 50 per cent since 2022 to help people doing it tough. In Fowler, Commonwealth Rent Assistance is received by 18,225 people—support that helps local renters meet the cost of housing.
