Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
A popular community workshop series is back in Parramatta with a fresh twist following the success of last year’s Growing Our Own Food (GOOF) program.
GOOF2 – Grow Our Own Food (Series 2) is a refreshed program designed to help residents reduce waste, save money and make low-impact choices at home, with each workshop able to be attended separately.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said the new workshop format makes it easier for more people to get involved.
“These workshops are all about giving people practical, everyday skills for sustainable living,” Cr Zaiter said.
“Whether it’s learning how to make your own products, reduce waste or grow food at home, this series helps our community take small steps that make a big difference.
“We’ve made this program more flexible so residents can pick and choose what interests them most and walk away with knowledge they can start using straight away.”
Each workshop focuses on practical ways to live more sustainably, from making your own body care and cleaning products, fermenting food, understanding circular economy principles, reducing waste, and growing microgreens at home.

Workshop line-up:
•    Living in a Circular Economy: Saturday 18 April, 9am-12pm.
Sprouts and Microgreens: Wednesday 29 April, 6pm-8:30pm.•    Home-made Cleaning Products: Saturday 9 May, 9am-12pm.
Spots are limited and bookings are essential, visit Council’s Events page to book.
