Sydney – Middle East Times Int’l: • It is necessary to align the Lebanese position with the US position regarding the implementation of the trilateral framework through achieving the first Israeli withdrawal from the first model region.
• It is necessary to strengthen US support for the Lebanese army and Lebanese military institutions and to take the necessary steps to consolidate US interest in Lebanon's economic and investment ascent in various sectors, especially energy, telecommunications, and transportation.
Secretary Rubio:
- We support the positions of the President of the Republic and the steps taken to restore the sovereignty of the Lebanese state over all its territories, and to implement the trilateral framework agreement and to revive Lebanon's role through economic prosperity and the extension of state sovereignty over all its territories.
- Lebanon cannot be part of any other negotiation process, and Lebanese sovereignty can only be achieved by a Lebanese decision issued by the Lebanese constitutional institutions. |
