Sydney – Middle East Times Int’l: Carlingford locals can now enjoy a revitalised space to play and stay active, with works at Kilpack Park officially complete.
The $1.55 million project includes a new playground and outdoor gym, widened pedestrian paths with better lighting, updated barbecue facilities and extensive landscaping, providing a much-needed modernisation of the area.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said park renewal projects like this make a real difference to everyday life in local suburbs.
“Kilpack Park has been transformed into a modern, high-quality space where Carlingford families can play, stay active and spend time together,” Cr Zaiter said.
“This is the kind of investment our community deserves - a park that caters for all ages and supports a healthy, active lifestyle close to home.
“Our first-rate local parks and playgrounds are what makes Parramatta the best place to live, work and play.”
Council’s community consultation revealed more than 90 per cent support for the proposed design.
State Member for Parramatta Donna Davis MP said: “Kilpack Park is a hidden gem with a secure perimeter fence making it a safe recreational space for all ages.
"With funding from the NSW Government people of all ages will enjoy better barbeques, a new playground, gym equipment improved pathways, lighting and landscaping.
"The aim of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program is to deliver great amenities in fast growing suburbs like Carlingford that will be popular places to visit now and into the future."
This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government's Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants Program in association with City of Parramatta.
