Kuwaiti PM’s Envoy: Nat’l Day celebration at Expo marks future vision

Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah touted the weighty presence and terrific success of the Kuwaiti Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 as having greatly buttressed Kuwait’s international position. Kuwait’s participation in this international event is primarily intended to deliver its cultural and humanitarian message to the world, the minister said in a  press interview, before concludes his visit to Italy.

During his stay in Milan, the Kuwaiti Minister represented His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah in Kuwait’s National Day celebration in the country’s pavilion at Expo Milan 2015 on Wednesday held under the banner “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”.

The celebration was attended by the Italian Prime Minister’s Representative, Undersecretary of Justice Ministry Cosimo Ferri, a number of senior Italian officials, including Milan Mayor Giuliano Pisapia, and representatives of the countries taking part in the Expo. Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah quoted Italian officials, countries’ representatives and pavilion managers as having lauded the Kuwaiti Pavilion’s distinguished and successful presence in the Expo Milan 2015. Marked by proper organization, management, amazing designs and eye-catching exhibits, the Kuwaiti pavilion has attracted as many as 1.3 million visitors so far, the cabinet minister boasted.

“This success springs from Kuwaitis’ loyalty to and appreciation for their deep humanitarian values, which are reflected in the humanitarian realm, as Kuwait always wastes no time to lend a hand to the needy with no purpose or discrimination,” he said. The Kuwaiti presence in the international event reflected the Kuwaiti people’s sincere desire for opening up and communication with, and amity towards, people across the world, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah pointed out.”This success should lead to more successes in all domains,” he said, citing it as a sign of the Kuwaiti people’s ability to give more and more.

He attributed Kuwait’s great international position to the fact that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the “Humanitarian Leader and Dean of the World Diplomacy”, is a model for tolerance, brotherhood and support for the oppressed and defenseless people. The success of the Kuwaiti Pavilion has crowned great media efforts and planning involving all ministries and state bodies, the minister added. Kuwait’s successes at both regional and international levels are the outgrowth of its wise policy and farsightedness under the leadership of HH the Amir, HHthe Crown Prince and HH the Prime Minister, he noted.

The Kuwaiti pavilion at the Expo Milan 2015 attracted large numbers of visitors who admired the country’s transition from life in desert to a modern society. The pavilion contains different scientific, cultural and artistic activities aiming to showcase history and culture of the State of Kuwait. Expo Milan 2015 is a major international exhibition that has been held every five years since the 19th century. Covering 272 Acres, it expects an estimated 29 million visitors from May 1st-October 31st 2015. Over 140 participating countries are showcasing the best of their technology, which will offer answers to questions revolving around health, safety and better food nourishment.

Italian lauds Kuwait’s participation

Representative of Italian Prime Minister and Undersecretary of Justice Ministry Cosimo Ferri extolled the prominent participation of the State of Kuwait at Expo Milano 2015. Speaking at an official ceremony of Kuwait’s ‘National Day’ event, Ferri welcomed the representative of HH the Prime Minister of Kuwait and Kuwaiti guests, hailing the ceremony as a distinguished mark in the history of excellent relations between the two countries.

He referred to the deep-rooted relations between Italy and Kuwait and the eagerness of their leaders to develop and widen these relations in all domains.

The Italian official also pointed to the significance of the last visit of HH the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah to Italy and his important meetings with President Sergio Mattarella and Prime Minister Matteo Renzi that sowed new seeds for “fruitful” ties.

He also referred to the growing presence of Italian companies in Kuwait and their contribution to implementing a number of ambitious development projects, stressing eagerness to exchange expertise and form partnerships with the Kuwaiti side.

Ferri underlined the importance of the cultural dimension between the two friendly peoples, noting that Italy hosted the first international Islamic exhibition that included unique items of Al-Sabah group.

Nat’l Day celebration reflects success of Kuwait media strategy - Official

General Commissioner of the Kuwait Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015 Faisal Al-Mutalaqem said the celebration of Kuwait’s National Day crowned the success of the country’s media strategy in delivering the country’s humanitarian message to the world.

“The cultural activities held at Kuwait Pavilion attracted up to 1,350,000 visitors from Italy and other parts of the world over the last few weeks; this is a source of pride for all of us,” Al-Mutalaqem said during his visit to Milan.

«The success of these events in attracting wide audience, including politicians, public figures and academics, was the fruit of well planning and interagency cooperation,” he said, referring to the presence of Sheikha Amthal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

«As host country of the Expo, Italy designated the national day celebrations to allow the participating countries to offer a panoramic view of the activities of their respective pavilions,” he went on, noting that representative of the Italian prime minister attended Kuwait’s National Day celebration.

Spoke highly of the artistic performance offered by Kuwait TV troupe during the celebration which was aired by Italian TV stations and was greatly admired by large number of spectators and viewers inside and outside Italy.

He added that Kuwait Pavilion organized nine scientific workshops tackling the theme of the Expo Milano “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life.” Al-Mutalaqem thanked the Italian authorities for their hospitality and efforts to ensure the success of Kuwait Pavilion.

He also appreciated the support given to the organizers of the pavilion by Kuwait Ambassador to Italy Sheikh Ali Khaled Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Consul General in Milan Abdul-Nasser Bukhadhor.

Kuwait Pavilion rated very highly

Members of the Pavilion Management Committee of Milano Expo 2015 visited Kuwait Pavilion recently and were received by Director of the pavilion Mazen Al-Ansari.

They rated the pavilion as “excellent,” Al-Ansari said after the visit, voicing joy for the rating.

“The committee expressed satisfaction with all contents of the pavilion and its organization which displayed the development stages of the style of life in Kuwait,” he said.

 

Kuwait Fills the gap between the Human civilizations

Kuwait’s participation at Expo Milano 2015 and the exhibition of Islamic art filled the large gap between the Human civilizations.  The exhibition won the admiration of visitors and embodied the role of Kuwait in enhancing Arab-Islamic culture internationally.

It was a tribute to Kuwait, Amir H.H. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, government for their great efforts and participation in Expo Milano 2015, especially the Ministry of Information (represented by the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and HH Sheikha Hussah Al-Salem Al-Sabah as well as the undersecretary Tareq Al-Mezrem) and the Commissioner General for the Kuwaiti pavilion Faisal Al-Mutalaqim, who made intensive efforts with their team to ensure the success of the Pavilion which won the admiration of visitors from all countries and contributed to positive results and great success.                         (METI)
