Kuwait’s Info Ministry refers 38 media outlets to public prosecution

KUWAIT-- Assistant Secretary of the Ministry of Information Lafi Al-Subaei, stated Monday that in accordance with ministerial decree 143 (2016) 38 media outlets were referred to the public prosecution for violating the coverage regulations for the campaigns of the 2022 National Assembly elections.

Al-Subaei said in a statement that the ministry took the necessary legal actions against a productions company shooting in front of the election affairs administration in Shuwaikh residential area without permit.

The Ministry of Information was working in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, Al-Subaei mentioned, affirming that the ministry will not allow any transgression on democratic practices.

He clarified that the ministry is working round the clock to ensure media outlets' commitment to laws and regulations.
