Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
The centre of Epping will come alive on Friday nights each month with a vibrant mix of food and entertainment after Council approved a monthly Epping Night Market to start next year.
The one-year trial starting in February 2026 will see the monthly Friday night market take place within the Chambers Court precinct.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor, Cr Martin Zaiter said the Epping Night Market concept was strongly supported by the community.
“Cities around the world are famous for their night markets and we want to bring some of that flavour and fun to the streets of Epping,” Cr Zaiter said.
“We know that locals want to see more markets - 98 per cent of respondents to Council’s community engagement were supportive.”
The Epping Night Markets are expected to host up to 25 stalls on Friday nights, including a mixture of food, hand-crafted goods and entertainment.
City of Parramatta Deputy Lord Mayor, Cr Charles Chen said the night markets were an exciting addition for the Epping community.
“Night markets are a great way to support the community whilst getting together with family and friends to have a good night out,” Cr Chen said.
“It also show’s Council’s commitment to delivering quality events to suburban areas that will delight both residents and visitors alike.”
Event details as well as information on stallholder applications will be confirmed in the coming months.
