Tori Johnson, killed in the siege in Martin Place.
Hostage killed in siege was Lindt cafe manager
The 34-year-old man killed in the Martin Place siege was Tori Johnson, the manager of the Lindt Chocolat Cafe, reports Nick Ralston.
Johnson had worked at the cafe for more than two years, and had worked in a host of restaurants in Sydney and the US.
Police have not confirmed reports from several media outlets that Mr Johnson had attempted to wrestle the weapon off gunman Man Haron Monis when he was shot.
One of Mr Johnson's former colleagues, Tony Manno, told the ABC he was shattered to hear the news.
"Tori was a great guy, a good guy to be around," said Mr Manno, who worked with Mr Johnson at Sydney's Adria Rybar & Grill.
