KUWAIT-- Kuwait's outstanding role is not confined only to the humanitarian field, the UN General Assembly (UNGA) President Tijjani Muhammad-Bande said on Thursday.

Muhammad-Bande made the press remarks at the UN office in Kuwait during his official visit to the country. Kuwait has constant willingness to cooperation to solve issues related to the region and the Islamic world, he said.

The UN official, who is heading the 74th session of the General Assembly, said that his meeting with Kuwaiti officials discussed ways to enhance cooperation and increase interaction on providing neutral support between the United Nations system and the government of Kuwait, especially Kuwait is one of the countries backing many projects and programs of the UN.

Of most outstanding topics discussed during the meeting was Kuwait's participation in suggesting ideas and exchanging views regarding key issues on security, peace, rights, development, he noted.

The meeting also covered Kuwait's support to developing countries within the framework of the UN to achieve the goals of the organization's sustainable development, he said.

The UN official thanked Kuwait for its efforts made during its non-permanent membership at the UN Security Council.

His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received the UNGA chief and his accompanying delegation earlier in the day at Seif Palace.
