Better weather conditions have allowed firefighters to gain the upper hand on a number of blazes burning across New South Wales. However authorities warn the threat is far from over with hot dry and windy conditions forecast into next week. At least 800 firefighters remain on the front line battling 60 blazes, with about 25 of them yet to be contained. A Watch and Act level of advice has been issued for eight fires still burning across the state. Police are investigating whether several of the fires that ravaged NSW were deliberately lit.
