Rahi calls on MPs to elect a president
27/11/2022
Lebanon- Maronite Patriarch, Cardinal Mar Beshara Boutros Al-Rahi, presided over a festive mass at the Maronite Pontifical Institute in Rome on Sunday.
In his sermon, the Patriarch hoped to elect a president for the sake of stability in Lebanon and to find solutions to the political, economic, social and daily living crises.
The Patriarch stressed that the essence of the Lebanese system is based on cultural and religious pluralism in the unity of coexistence, and participation in governance and administration, in the spirit of the National Pact and the Constitution.
In this context, Al-Rahi called on the deputies to elect a president capable of uniting the Lebanese around him and around the state project, one who abides by the constitution, legitimacy, Lebanese laws and international decisions.
"We pray together for Lebanon, so that God will bring it out of the darkness of its crises into the light of its liberation and the continuation of its mission," he concluded.
