GCC affirms need to boost Gulf-Chinese relations

10/01/2022

RIYADH-- The GCC Secretary General Dr. Nayif Al-Hajraf affirmed the need to boost Gulf-Chinese relations on different levels.

Al-Hajraf's remarks came during his visit to China on Monday on an invitation from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the GCC's Secretariat General said in a statement.

Al-Hajraf hoped this visit would push the GCC-China ties forward, in the light of the framework Agreement on Economic Cooperation between the GCC States and China, signed between the two sides in June 2004 in Beijing, as well as the memorandum of understanding in 2010.

He added that they would also discuss free trade between the two sides, as China is the GCC's number one trade partner. Moreover, they will prepare for the tenth talks session, he said.
