Chester Hill Station Upgrade design improvements revealed

Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l: “Chester Hill is home to a very diverse community, with many young families with prams, people with disabilities, carers, the elderly, women and girls. They deserve safe and easy access to public transport and the NSW Government is getting on with job of delivering it.
CH - view from platform to station entrance The upgrade to Chester Hill Station will be further improved thanks to design changes that will widen the station entrance and provide better protection in wet weather.
Chester Hill is one of eight stations across New South Wales in line for an upgrade under the NSW Government’s $800 million election commitment to accelerate station upgrades across NSW. Many more are currently undertaking preliminary investigations for future upgrades.
The upgrade at Chester Hill will include a new lift, an accessible parking space, an accessible kiss and ride space, additional bike parking and bus stop upgrades on Chester Hill Road.
A new family accessible toilet, a new unisex ambulant toilet, new hearing loops, platform regrading and tactile indicators will integrate with safety improvements including enhanced lighting, CCTV, and wayfinding signage.
As part of ongoing development, Transport for NSW has made some changes to improve the overall upgrade. Added features of the new design include:
•   Wider entrance from Chester Hill Road to the station platforms: this will help reduce crowding at the station entrance, making access easier.
•   Defined waiting area for the lift and for stair access: the entrance area is bigger with a designated waiting area, allowing passengers to move around more easily.
•   Clear view along the platforms, stairs and lift waiting areas: there is better visibility along the platform from the lift waiting area, improving passenger safety and making it easier for station staff to watch over the area.
•   Weather protection along Chester Hill Road footpath: continuous canopy coverage will continue from the station entry along the footpath all the way to the bus stops, keeping passengers dry in bad weather.
