Yair Golan: Netanyahu declares war on Israel

(See translation in Arabic section)
Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
Israeli Democratic Party leader Yair Golan said on Sunday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is declaring war on Israel. Golan explained: "Netanyahu has declared war on Israel, and the decision to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar is a desperate attempt by a criminal defendant to get rid of a person loyal to Israel who is investigating Netanyahu and his entourage for serious and dark crimes, and who does not wish to clear their names."
Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid confirmed: "We will appeal to the Supreme Court the decision to dismiss Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar from his position."
League leader Benny Gantz, a former minister in the Israeli war cabinet, said: "The dismissal of the Shin Bet chief is a direct violation of state security and undermines unity in Israeli society for political and personal reasons."
The government's attorney general clarified that the Shin Bet chief cannot be dismissed without her legal opinion.
