Pope Francis on healing, forgiveness, and what truly matters

Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
The following are quotes made by Pope Francis following while recovering from his recent health problem that put him in the hospital.
“The walls of hospitals have heard more sincere prayers than churches, and I have witnessed more sincere kisses than those given at airports.
In the hospital, you see a homosexual saving the life of someone who is hostile to him.
You see an elegant doctor saving the life of a beggar.
In intensive care, you see a Jew caring for a racist. You see a policeman and a convict in the same room receiving the same care. You see a wealthy patient awaiting a liver transplant, ready to receive an organ from a poor donor.
It is in these moments that the hospital touches people’s wounds, and worlds intersect according to divine will. In this confluence of destinies, we realise that, alone, we are nothing.
The ultimate truth about a person often only emerges in moments of pain or when there is a real threat of ultimate loss.
The hospital is where a person takes off their mask and reveals their true self, their true essence.
This life will pass quickly...
Don’t pick fights with others, and don’t criticise your body too much.
Don’t complain too much, and don’t lose sleep over bills.
Make sure you hug your loved ones.
Don’t obsess over keeping the house spotlessly clean.
Wealth should be earned by each person; don’t dedicate your life to collecting an inheritance.
Get closer to your pets.
Don’t leave dishes unattended.
Use new cutlery.
Don’t skimp on your favourite perfume; use it for yourself. Wear your favourite shoes, recycle your favourite clothes – and what’s the problem?
If there’s no harm done, why not now?
Why not take a break?
Why not call now?
Why not forgive now?
We wait so much:
We wait for Christmas, Friday, next year, when we have money, when love comes, when everything is perfect...
But listen carefully: perfection does not exist.
Man is incapable of achieving it because he was simply not created to be perfect here.
This is merely an opportunity to learn.
So, enjoy this life experience and live it now.
Respect yourself, respect others.
Go your own way, and let others go their own way. Respect: don’t comment, don’t judge, don’t interfere.
Love more, forgive more, embrace more, and live with more passion!
And leave the rest in the hands of the Creator...”
