Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l: Residents are encouraged to have their say on a long-term plan that will help shape the delivery of community spaces and facilities across Parramatta as the City continues to grow.
The Draft Community Infrastructure Strategy outlines priorities for new and upgraded community facilities, including parks, libraries, community hubs, aquatic centres and recreation spaces and is now on public exhibition.
Developed through extensive community consultation, the draft Strategy assesses current and future demand for community infrastructure across the local government area and identifies key priorities and actions to meet the needs of existing and future residents.
City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Martin Zaiter said community infrastructure plays a vital role in bringing people together and supporting healthy communities.
"From neighbourhood parks and libraries to community hubs and aquatic centres, these are important places where people connect, learn, play and belong,” Cr Zaiter said.
"We've listened to our community throughout the development of this draft Strategy and now we are asking residents to take a look and tell us their thoughts.
“Their feedback will help shape the final plan and guide future investment across our City, especially as our City and neighbourhoods continue to grow.”
The Strategy includes detailed analysis of community facilities, open space and recreation needs, while also identifying priorities for areas experiencing significant population growth.
The Draft Community Infrastructure Strategy 2026 is on public exhibition until 5pm on Tuesday 20 October.
