AFIC Condemns India’s Attack on Pakistan, Warns of Dangerous Global Trend of Anti-Muslim Aggression

Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
The
Australian Federation of Islamic Councils (AFIC) condemns in the
strongest possible terms India’s unprovoked military attack on Pakistan,
including strikes in Punjab and Kashmir. This deliberate escalation
poses a grave threat not only to regional stability but to global peace
and security.
These attacks do not occur in isolation. They are part
of a deeply troubling pattern of rising hostility toward Muslim nations
and Muslim populations across the world. For decades, Muslims in India
have faced institutionalised discrimination, violence, and systemic
racism. This includes the stripping of Kashmir’s special status, the
persecution of minorities, and the demonisation of Muslims in Indian
political and media discourse.
Moreover, India’s support for the
ongoing genocide in Gaza has further aligned it with global actors
complicit in the oppression and subjugation of Muslim populations. This
latest military aggression against Pakistan is yet another manifestation
of an alarming rise in attacks against Muslim-majority nations and
communities worldwide.
AFIC President, Dr. Rateb Jneid, issued a call
for urgent global attention and action when he stated, “This is not
just a bilateral conflict. This is part of a global trend of unchecked
aggression against Muslim peoples—from Palestine to Kashmir, from Gaza
to Pakistan. Where are the leaders of the Muslim-majority nations? Will
they continue to sit idly by as one Muslim population after another
comes under attack? Have they abandoned even the pretence of a global
Muslim Ummah?”
AFIC stresses that this is not just a crisis for the Muslim world but a grave warning for all of humanity. AFIC calls on:
•    The Australian Government to publicly condemn the attack and advocate for de-escalation and diplomacy.
•    Muslim-majority nations to show principled leadership and solidarity in the face of aggression.
•
The international community to work toward an immediate cessation of
hostilities and address the deeper injustices that fuel such conflicts.

AFIC
will continue to stand with oppressed communities globally and calls on
all Australians to join in demanding justice, peace, and the protection
of human rights for all.
