Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l: Liverpool City Council’s Most Blessed Nights festival is back for a final weekend, to celebrate the Easter long weekend.
“Liverpool is one of Australia’s most diverse communities and our Most Blessed Nights festival is unique, because it covers Passover, Ramadan and Easter.
“In a world where division too often dominates headlines, Liverpool offers a living example of harmonious multiculturalism.
“The city’s history has long made it a meeting place of cultures, but this festival takes that legacy further—actively fostering understanding and mutual respect through art, food, storytelling, and community events. “Our Most Blessed Nights is more than a local celebration—it’s a world-class model of how faith and culture can come together not in conflict, but in community.
“It’s a reminder that diversity isn’t just to be tolerated—it’s something to be cherished,” Mayor Mannoun said.
The April weekend includes easter-themed activities such as egg basket crafts, hat making, bunny making, a roving easter bunny and an easter egg hunt as well as a diverse range of cuisines.
“The fact that Our Most Blessed Nights has already attracted more than 130,000 people to Liverpool who have pumped $7.5 million worth of visitor spending is a big win—not just culturally, but economically too,” said Mayor Mannoun. “This kind of impact shows how powerful inclusive events can be, not only in building community, but in driving real-world growth.
“Restaurants, hotels, markets, taxi services, and local shops all benefit when people come together for a major event like this.
“It brings visitors into the city, encourages spending, and puts Liverpool firmly on the map as a vibrant, welcoming destination.
“Instead of conflict or division, the city is benefitting economically by promoting peace, understanding, and shared joy. It’s proof that multiculturalism isn’t just good for the soul—it’s good for business too,” he said.
