Sydney-Middle East Times Int'l:
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is inviting people who are passionate about making a difference to their communities to consider becoming a full-time firefighter at Australia’s busiest urban fire and rescue agency.
The permanent firefighter recruitment drive opens next month, and you can find out more at information sessions in Sydney this Thursday, 6 February. The events will also be livestreamed so potential applicants can tune-in from across New South Wales.
Current firefighters will share their experiences, offering valuable insights into the responsibilities, physical and mental challenges, and the significant community impact that firefighters have. Staff will also guide attendees through the recruitment process, helping them understand how to prepare for the application and what to expect in the months ahead.
Why Become a Firefighter? •      Make a Difference: As a firefighter, you will play a vital role in enhancing community safety, saving lives, and protecting property. •      Stay Active: Firefighting is a physically demanding career that requires on-the-job training and leadership development. No two days are the same. •      Job Security & Career Growth: Enjoy the stability of a permanent position and a clear path for career advancement. •
Diversity: FRNSW provides services across fire, rescue, hazardous materials, community medical services, urban search and rescue, counter-terrorism, building fire safety and fire investigation and research.
Applications for FRNSW’s permanent firefighter roles open on Monday 3 March and close on Monday 17 March.   To register for the information session or for more information about the recruitment process, visit www.fire.nsw.gov.au/recruitment   Quotes to be attributed to FRNSW Commissioner Jeremy Fewtrell:
