Matar honours the media professionals of the north and hopes to facilitate the task of forming the government 02/03/2025 - (See translation in Arabic section) Sydney - Middle East Times Int’l: MP Ihab Matar wished that the Prime Minister-designate Nawaf Salam would expedite the formation of the new government due to its ability to revive the country's economy after a difficult military, security and political period, stressing that he has not communicated with Judge Salam until now to discuss any suggestions or interventions that may hinder the work and activity of the Prime Minister-designate, saying: "I believe that I was perhaps the only MP who did not communicate to obstruct the work of the President or interfere in the process of forming the government, which we hope will not be unfair to anyone." Matar said during a breakfast banquet during which he honored the media professionals of Tripoli and the north at the "Beitna" restaurant - Ad-Dam Sorting: “President Salam has complete freedom in how to form his government, and choose the figures he finds suitable, whether in terms of expertise and competence or in terms of his appreciation and taking into consideration the political or sectarian balances in the country. The efforts or discussions he is making now in cooperation with the President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, will be presented to us as representatives, so that we may give them confidence or withhold it from him. Therefore, we call on everyone to be patient and assume Salam’s good faith in the assignment and formation first, and to give the judge more freedom or facilities second, far from the rumors or obstacles that appear daily. We emphasize that any party’s concession to the other, if the expression is correct, will not be harmful and will not be considered a defeat for one party in front of another, as we want to protect the country, not break it or take it into the unknown again.” In a speech addressed to the media professionals of the North, MP Matar thanked their efforts "because they always seek to search for the truth and help their city, which needs their honest word in various fields, especially when they shed light with complete transparency on its activities and most prominent events and follow up on its most prominent concerns and thorny issues. As for us as MPs, we do not hide the fact that we also seek to meet the needs according to the available capabilities, especially since we feel the suffering and concerns of the people of Tripoli in these difficult stages." In turn, the advisor to the Syndicate of Editors, Ahmed Darwish, delivered a speech on behalf of the media professionals, in which he thanked MP Matar for this initiative, stressing the importance of his efforts that he exerts in the interest of the city and its people, many of whom suffer from exceptional circumstances. |
