“STRONG LEBANON” Urges Hariri to resume cabinet formation endeavors

12 Jan 2021

Lebanon - “Strong Lebanon" parliamentary bloc on Tuesday held its periodic meeting electronically, headed by MP Gebran Bassil.

The bloc declared in a statement issued in the wake of the meeting that it expected of Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri, to reinitiate communications with the President of the Republic in a bid to swiftly form a government, away from any sort of influence.

The bloc also called on the Lebanese to abide by the decisions of the Supreme Defense Council to help curb the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Furthermore, the bloc urged the caretaker government to shoulder its responsibilities in rationalizing subsidies in a way that protects hundreds of thousands of Lebanese who have fallen below the poverty line, yet without emptying Lebanon from its foreign currency reserves.
