Egyptian Embassy: 50 tons of food aid arrive at Beirut Port

22 Sep 2020

Lebanon - The Egyptian Embassy in Lebanon on Tuesday announced in a statement that 50 tons of food aid provided by the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate in Egypt to Lebanon’s Maronite Patriarchate, Roman Catholic Patriarchate, Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, and the Islamic Charitable Society, has arrived in Beirut Port as part of the Egyptian support of the brotherly Lebanese people facing the current crisis.

Egyptian Ambassador, Dr. Yasser Alawi, affirmed that this aid came to complement the air and sea bridges launched by Egypt in the wake of Beirut Port explosion.

“It is an embodiment of the official and popular Egyptian solidarity with Lebanon to overcome this crisis (...) The Arab Republic of Egypt is fully mobilized to support its brothers in Lebanon,” the Egyptian diplomat added.
