GEAGEA: We'll Work for Formation of Neutral and Independent Government

Lebanon - Lebanese Forces' leader, Samir Geagea, said Wednesday that his party will work for the formation of a "neutral" and "independent" government.

Speaking following a meeting for the "Strong Republic" parliamentary bloc, Geagea called for an international investigation into the blast that his Beirut port on August 4.

"We hold the security and judicial apparatuses responsible for what happened," he said.

He also called lawmakers who decided to quit the Parliament to renege on their resignation before submitting it officially.

"I contacted MP Sami Gemayel for this purpose, because we can make an impact inside the Parliament during the current stage," he indicated.

\Asked whether he would name Saad Hariri to chair and form the next government, Geagea replied: "We are pro a totally new independent and neutral government."
