BASSIL Grants Confidence to New Cabinet, Pushes for Positive Pressures to Complete Government Action

11 Feb 2020

Lebanon - Member of Parliament, Gebran Bassil, on Tuesday said that his parliamentary bloc had no alternative but to give confidence to the new government whilst providing it with a chance to act.

Speaking at the House of Parliament, Bassil said he was in favor of positive pressures that could help the government do its job.

"The government is able to get Lebanon out of the crisis," he added, noting that "in case of divergence within the cabinet, the solution lies in a vote in a bid order to avoid blackmailing politicians."

The MP finally affirmed his sympathy with the people on the street, calling for an end to the policy of unstable USD exchange rate at "any cost".
