Kuwait PM eyes better ties amid Egypt visit

20/10/2019

KUWAIT-- His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah expressed joy on Sunday upon arriving in the Egyptian capital Cairo, saying Egypt had always been "near and dear to the hearts of Kuwaitis." The Kuwaiti Premier's visit to Cairo, which he said was necessary given "these trying times," reflects a mutual desire to improve bilateral ties, pointing out that such challenges call for greater cooperation.

He spoke of the Gulf state's historic relations with Egypt, saying bilateral cooperation has been satisfactory thanks to the efforts of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Egyptian President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi.

On talks with his Egyptian counterpart Mostafa Madbouly, he said it would center on bilateral ties and matters of mutual concern, in addition to current happenings around the world. He also hoped that his visit would be the catalyst for even better relations with Egypt.
