Kuwait parliamentary Speaker in Geneva to participate in IPU conf.

GENEVA-- Kuwaiti National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim arrived on Saturday in Geneva to participate in the 139th session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) scheduled on October 14-18.

Al-Dustor news network said that Al-Ghanim was received by Kuwait's Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim, Kuwait's Ambassador to Switzerland Bader Al-Tunaib and a number of embassy members.

Al-Ghanim will address a speech on "Parliamentary Leadership in Promoting Peace and Development in the Age of Innovation and Technological Change".

The Speaker and his accompanying delegation will also participate in the coordination meetings of the Arab, Islamic and Asian groups in order to coordinate positions on issues of vital importance.

On the other hand, the Kuwaiti delegation will participate in the meetings of the standing and sub-Committees of the Union, which will discuss several issues, including the role of fair and free trade and investment in achieving the goals of sustainable and other topics.

The Kuwaiti delegation includes several parliamentary officials.
