19/09/2018

BEIRUT-- The Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdulaal Al-Qenaee expressed on Wednesday his thanks and appreciation to the Lebanese official and public stances against the offense of Kuwait and His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

These supportive stances reflect the deep-rooted ties between both nations and peoples, the diplomat said in a statement.

"Brotherly feelings expressed by Lebanese people towards Kuwait and its political leadership were represented by President Michel Aoun, Parliament's Speaker Nabih Berri, (Caretaker) Prime Minister Saad Al-Hariri, as well as former presidents and prime ministers along with heads of political parties, economic, religious and social bodies, media, labour unions," the envoy said.

He expressed his thanks to the Lebanese people for expressing through various means their condemnation of any offense against Kuwait, as they showed their deep appreciation and love to the country, which has always supported Lebanon during its crises.

The Lebanese political leadership and major political parties rejected and condemned any insult to Kuwait and its people, and the Kuwaiti Embassy in Beirut received a large number of calls and letters expressing solidarity with His Highness the Amir and the Kuwaiti people, Al-Qenaee affirmed.

The local media in Lebanon posted many articles tackling the historic relations between both countries, recalling Kuwait's distinguished support to Lebanon on all regional and international arenas.
