Australian Ambassador Visits Arsal as Part of The Australian Embassy’s Humanitarian Aid Programme

On Tuesday 10 July 2018, Ambassador of Australia to Lebanon Mr. Glenn Miles visited Arsal, a north-eastern border town in the Beqaa region, to meet with Syrian refugees and vulnerable Lebanese supported by the Australian Aid Programme through UNHCR.

Mr. Miles commended the work of UNHCR, including its support to the rehabilitation of a primary health care center in the area, in partnership with Relief International. During a visit to an Informal Settlement where he discussed issues faced by the Syrian community, Mr. Miles reassured refugees and UNHCR “Australia remains committed to working with Lebanon and the International Community to help Lebanon respond to this protracted crisis”.
