Kuwaiti Deputy FM stresses historical relations with France

12/07/2018

KUWAIT-- Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah on Thursday underlined distinguished historical relations between Kuwait and France, saying Kuwait looks forward to closer cooperation.

Speaking to reporters after attending a celebration by the French embassy to mark the European country's National Day, Al-Jarallah said the State of Kuwait appreciates French positions towards regional issues, adding that both countries share the same views on several international issues.

He hoped that bilateral relations would further develop and growth, noting that the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs and French authorities co-organize exhibitions and festivals pertinent to the history and culture of the State of Kuwait with a view to promoting this relationship.

On her part, French Ambassador to Kuwait Marie Masdupuy underlined the significance of the "firm" relations between France and Kuwait, hoping that more business opportunities would be provided to French companies in Kuwait.

But, she regretted that Kuwaiti students in France make up only one percent of the number of foreigners studying in her country.
