Kuwait's Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri addresses the inaugural session of the Seventh Arab Media Forum for Youth
Kuwait devotes maximum attention to the youth -- Info. Min. Al-Jabri
CAIRO-- The State of Kuwait dedicates maximum concern for the youth because "they are the builders of the future, carriers of the torch of development and progress," said the visiting Kuwait's Information Minister Mohammad Al-Jabri on Saturday.
This policy is being carried out with guidance by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said the minister during the inaugural session of the Seventh Arab Media Forum for Youth.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Youth was established in January 2013, said the minister during the session, sponsored by the Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul Gheit.
This ministry is responsible for launching integrated policies and initiatives for empowering the junior citizens to be creative leaders, he said; and as a result of this approach, the State of Kuwait was designated the Capital of Arab Youth (2017-2018).
The Kuwaiti Government strategy is based on full-scale and sustainable development, featuring in part the youth sectors, he said, boasting that Kuwait Youth have been serving in the media sector effectively.
Minister Al-Jabri noted the youth, namely those serving in the media and information sectors, pivotal role in tackling incorrect notions about the Arabs, in addition to their responsibility in confronting thoughts for promoting violence, extremism and terrorism.
The two-day forum is attended by a number of Arab information ministers, leading media figures and students.
