Mohamed bin Zayed receives Commander of U.S. Central Command

ABU DHABI-- His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received on Monday, the visiting Commander of the U.S. Central Command, General Joseph L. Votel, at Al Shati Palace.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and General Votel discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them.

They reviewed co-ordination and co-operation between the two countries in a number of military and defence domains. They also tackled the joint efforts to fight extremism and terrorism and the importance of boosting co-operation to better serve interests of the two friendly countries and preserve security and stability of the region.

The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and the Commander of U.S. Central Command exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, as well as issues of mutual concern.

Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America, Mohamed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Lieutenant General, Isa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, the US Ambassador to the UAE, Barbara A. Leaf, and the delegation accompanying General Votel, attended the meeting.
