MUSCAT: Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, received at his residence at Al Alam Palace on Tuesday His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, within the framework of his visit to the Sultanate accompanied with a high-level delegation. At the beginning of the meeting, HH Sayyid Fahd pointed out to the deep-rooted brotherly and historic relations binding the Sultanate and Kuwait and the mutual esteem and amicability between the leaderships in both countries.

He expressed happiness and the warm welcome of the Omani people to this visit which will have a positive effect on the comprehensive cooperation between the Sultanate and Kuwait. This was very clear at the meeting between the Emir of Kuwait and His Majesty Sultan Qaboos which reviewed the future of the existing relations and means of developing them. The two leaders also discussed international developments which require continuous regional and international coordination.

Shaikh Sabah expressed his happiness for visiting the Sultanate as His Majesty’s guest. He thanked and appreciated His Majesty, the Omani government and people for the warm reception he received. He also hailed the official talks he had with His Majesty, and pointed out that the shared views reflected the deep-rooted bilateral relations which both countries are keen to promote. The Kuwait Emir also praised the outcome of this meeting which will reflect positively on the two brotherly peoples and the GCC states.

 MUSCAT: With great appreciation and pride the Sultanate received the guest of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos and guest of Oman Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jabir al Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, who began yesterday his three-day state visit to the Sultanate. An officials and public reception was accorded for the Emir of Kuwait upon his arrival to the Sultanate as over 3,000 persons representing many traditional art troupes queued on the roadside chanting welcoming songs for the State’s guest. They also greeted the dear guest of His Majesty the Sultan and the Omani people. The visit of the Emir of Kuwait comes in coronation of the strong fraternal relations and ties binding the two countries and their brotherly peoples at the official and public levels.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, along with his accompanying delegation, embarked Tuesday on a sea journey on board an Omani royal yacht.

His Highness the Amir was accompanied on his journey by Oman's Minister of Heritage and Culture Haythem bin Tariq Al-Saeed.
