Kuwaiti Gov't dedicated to youth affairs -- Minister

21/06/2016

KUWAIT -- The government has taken it upon itself to give the Kuwaiti youth maximum attention since they are the future of the country, said on Tuesday Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah.

Addressing the parliamentary committee on state bodies' budgets and final accounts, the minister said the government has done well with establishing an office for state minister for youth affairs, which has adopted numerous projects for the benefit of the nation's youth.

Noting the fact that it is essential to support the youth in all areas of interest, he said that 80 percent of employees in the ministry of youth affairs are below the age of 30.

He added that the UN considers Kuwait a prime example for a nation caring for its youth and that the Arab League refers to Kuwaiti approaches to handling youth affairs in the League's various policies on youth.
