Too little too late for education in Parramatta - MP Julie Owens

4 May 2015

Federal Member for Parramatta, Julie Owens MP today called on the Turnbull Government to restore vital education cuts to the Parramatta community saying that last night’s budget announcement for education funding was far too little and far too late.

She was referring to more than $230 million cut from our schools in Parramatta by the Abbott/Turnbull Government.

“The Turnbull Government cut $230 m from our local schools, now they want praise for returning just $1 dollar for every $30 they have cut,” Julie said

Last election the Liberals were happy to announce that they would match the Labor Government’s Gonski education plan.  The reality is they have slashed vital funding from our local schools.

A Shorten Labor Government will honour the Gonski education reform agreements in full and restore vital education funding to our schools.
