GCC stands with Paris in hour of crisis

18 November 2015

RIYADH: Gulf foreign ministers expressed solidarity with France Tuesday and vehemently condemned “in the strongest terms” the multiple Daesh attacks in Paris.

“The ministers affirmed the support of the Gulf Cooperation Council to France and her friendly people at this difficult moment,” the bloc's chief said in a statement after a meeting.

Friday's shootings and suicide blasts “will only reinforce the determination of France and the entire world to continue to combat terrorism and uproot these organizations hostile to human civilization,” said GCC Secretary-General Abdullatif Al-Zayani.

While reviewing recent developments in the region, the council discussed a number of issues on how to promote and develop coordination in all areas

Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, who chaired the meeting, said the Kingdom would host the next GCC summit where important decisions would be taken.
