Omani scouts head to Jordan jamboree meet

MUSCAT — Oman Scouts delegation left Muscat on Friday to take part in the Arab Scout Jamboree to be hosted by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan between August 29 and September.

The participation in the jamboree is aimed at promoting the spirit of brotherhood and friendship between countries in the Arab world.

To achieve this, scouts provide a perfect opportunities to exchange experiences among member nations.

It also provides a platform to highlight the Sultanate’s culture, customs and traditions while underlining it achievements made at home during the Blessed Renaissance under the wise leader of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

Arab Scout Jamboree includes a number of programmes and activities like exploration trips and visits to historical sites in Jordan.

There is also an Open Day Sports and a scout symposium.

Head of the delegation Hamoud bin Sulaiman al Harrasi said the Omani team was ready with its skills and roles assigned for every member of the team.
