(Translation of this article appears in Arabic section)

The Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry have re-elected Mr Roland Jabbour as chairman.

Mr Jabbour has extensive business and international trade experience, and is a high profile community leader, according to AACCI chief executive officer Ms Suzannah Moss-Wright.

“I am delighted to have this opportunity to work with Mr Jabbour on behalf of the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry,” she said.

“As a national organisation, we pride ourselves on the strength and accessibility of our state chapters, and we are united in our support of empowering AACCI though local representation. We are committed to representing the interests of our members and stakeholders in pursuit of our mission to promote commerce with the Arab World; and raise the Australian business community’s awareness of of the importance of the Australian-Arab trade relationship.’’

The AACCI is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and has acted as a conduit for Arab investors to opportunities in Australia since 1975. Australia’s exports to the Arab World were worth almost $8 billion in 2014. Over half of this trade ($4.2 billion) was agricultural.
