ALF Scholarship Dinner invitation with Mrs Margie Abbott (PM’s wife) as the guest of honour

Dear Friend,

The Council of the Australian Lebanese Foundation is pleased to inform you that the successful candidates for its University of Sydney Scholarships will be announced at a prestigious dinner to be held in MacLaurin Hall, The University of Sydney, on Tuesday 6th May.

We are also pleased to announce that we have invited Dr May Chidiac, renowned Lebanese media personality, TV host, news anchor, and media professor to visit Australia and she will be our special guest speaker at the Scholarship Dinner. Dr Chidiac is well known for her outspoken criticism of the political influence of Syria over Lebanon and was tragically attacked by a car bomb on 25th September 2005 causing her to lose her left leg and left arm. Despite a long and difficult recovery, on July 2006 she defiantly returned to her role in the media. Dr Chidiac also boldly pursued further study and received a PhD, published her book “Le Ciel M’attendra”, and continues her academic profession as a Media Professor at Notre Dame University in Beirut.

We are happy to announce that Mrs Margie Abbott (PM’s wife) will be the guest of honour at our Scholarship Presentation Dinner on 6th May with our special guest speaker Dr May Chidiac (please see attached invitation).

We sincerely hope that you will be able to join our distinguished guests at this function where we look forward to another very enjoyable evening’s entertainment and excellent dining in one of the most beautiful venues of Sydney University. Seats forour prestigious Scholarship Dinner will be

limited. Please refer to the below and attached official invitation which provides more details of the event and on how to RSVP.

Kind regards,

Prof. Fadia Ghossayn
