Police appeal for possible sexual assault victims to come forward – Edensor Park 26 June 2012 Police who arrested and charged a man for sexual assault offences late last year in the Fairfield area are appealing for further possible victims to come forward. Detectives from Fairfield Local Area Command formed an investigation in December last year to investigate the alleged activities of a 79-year-old man from Edensor Park. The investigation resulted in the man being charged with aggravated sexual assault and aggravated indecency. He will next appear at Campbelltown Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 27 June). The two alleged victims, girls aged 9 and 15, had been taught English by the man at his home. Investigators believe there might be further victims who have not yet reported the matters to police. The man is believed to have taught English to children in the areas of Edensor Park, St Johns Park, Cabramatta and Fairfield throughout the 1990s. Many of the children taught English are believed to be from either the Laos or Vietnamese community. Anyone with information is urged to contact Fairfield Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. |
