Kuwait's Amir urges world to stop Israel’s Gaza aggression – Sheikh Sabah reaffirms faith in judiciary, support to youth KUWAIT: HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah yesterday urged the international community to stop the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip. In a televised speech on the occasion of the last ten days of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, the Amir condemned the “continued brutal Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, leading to victims and casualties from our Palestinian brothers”. Sheikh Sabah regretted that the Israeli aggression continues while the UN Security Council fails to take action. “This prompts the international community as a whole to shoulder responsibility to stop that blatant Israeli aggression and end the sufferings of the brotherly Palestinian people in Gaza, offering support and human aid to our stricken people there,” the Amir said. In the televised speech, the Amir underlined “absolute faith” in the Kuwaiti judiciary system with acclaimed trust, impartiality and integrity, saying that whatever issues have been raised are in the custody of the judiciary, thus leading to revealing the truth through just verdicts. Sheikh Sabah congratulated the Kuwaiti people on the occasion of the last ten days of Ramadan, praying to Allah to bestow greatness, peace and stability on Kuwait as well as the Arab and Muslim nations. The Amir noted how the blessed fasting month of Ramadan offers a great chance to get closer to God, remembering His graces on the people and the country. His Highness the Amir urged the Kuwaiti people to work harder to maintain their country, adhering to “our democratic path which we are satisfied with and our constitution which we are proud of”. “Our country is facing fatal challenges to promote our present and build our future. There’s no other way to achieve this, but through uniting all national efforts and forces and cooperating in sincere serious work” to meet the expectations and ambitions of all Kuwaiti people, Sheikh Sabah said. HH the Amir said that he has stressed on many occasions that Kuwait’s real wealth is the youth – the mainstay that will build the future of the nation. He Amir referred to the first youth conference held in Kuwait last year, saying that he has instructed the government to study the recommendations of the national gathering and speed up efforts to implement them, enabling the Kuwaiti youth to develop their potential and skills and handle their own issues. Some of these recommendations have already become a reality, topped with setting up a ministry for youth affairs and founding a fund for developing small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) with a capital of KD 2 billion, in addition to several procedures, laws and decisions relevant to youth. Moreover, HH the Amir said that the coming days will witness more decisions and initiatives to support the Kuwaiti youth and enable them to contribute to shouldering responsibility, playing a role in the building and development of the country. |
