A message from the State President of Liberal Party

Dear Camil,

It’s been a week unlike any other in the NSW Liberal Party’s history and so I wanted to take this moment to write to you.

The Hon. Barry O’Farrell MP was one of the greatest Premiers and leaders that our Party has ever had.

After the devastating election loss of 2007, he brought our Party together, inspiring members and voters across the state with his vision for NSW.

Under his strong leadership the Liberal & Nationals Coalition went on to record a historic unprecedented victory in the 2011 election, winning 69 seats.

Over the past three years, Mr O'Farrell and the Government have undertaken the mammoth task of rebuilding NSW after 16 years of Labor.  After more than a decade of neglect, the Liberal & Nationals Coalition led by Barry O’Farrell has invested in vital infrastructure projects like the North West Rail Link, WestConnex and NorthConnex, as well as boosting the number of frontline police, nurses and teachers.

His contribution to NSW is immeasurable and I thank him for his service and his dedication to the great people of this state.

Today we saw the Hon. Mike Baird MP elected as Premier and the Hon. Gladys Berejiklian MP as Deputy Leader of the NSW Liberal Party.

I congratulate them on their appointments and I look forward to working closely with them as the government gets on with the job of rebuilding NSW.

Mr Baird and Ms Berejiklian played an integral role in government over the past three years and I look forward to watching our state prosper under their strong leadership.

As we move closer to the 2015 election it’s important that we stand together and remember what it is that we are all fighting for.

In 2011 the people of NSW spoke loud and clear – they wanted strong leadership and a government that would fight for them.

The Liberal & Nationals Government has achieved a lot, but there is still more work to be done and we can’t do that without your help.

We need to remain united in our fight against Labor to ensure the people of NSW continue to get what they want – a Liberal & Nationals Government.

We know the fight won’t be easy, but I know that if we all stand together we will ensure victory in March 2015.

Thank you for your ongoing support and I take the opportunity to wish you and your family a Happy Easter.

Yours sincerely,

Chris Downy

State President
