Turkey-- Representative of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Minister of Information and Culture, and Minster of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi attended on Tuesday the opening of the fifth edition of the Islamic solidarity games hosted by the Turkish city of Konya.

During the opening ceremony, Kuwait's Olympic athlete Abdullah Al-Torqi and racer Amal Al-Roumi held high Kuwait's flag.

Kuwait is partaking in the games with 60 male and female athletes in 10 contests, including swimming, karate, Judo, athletics, taekwondo and others.

The competition will run until 18 August with the participation of about 6,000 male and female athletes from 56 countries.
