Worsening problem on Excelsior Street, Merrylands

Worsening problem on Excelsior Street, Merrylands

27/10/2020

Sydney: Something must be done about Excelsior Street at Merrylands, Sydney.

Attempts by water board crews to fix a pothole on the road, in which water had seeped up from below the ground, failed.

The problem is worse now, especially given the bad weather that has hit the city.

Some residents made contact with Cumberland council, who came to inspect it and apply a tar “patch”.

Their efforts were soon undone and the problem is now worsening.

This pothole poses a real danger to drivers, who tend to drive around it and pose a danger to pedestrians in the process.

A more permanent solution needs to be found.
