National Khutbah (Sermon) This Friday The attack on any Muslim or any innocent person anywhere around the world is an attack on all Muslims and all people. 20/3/2019 The Australian National Imams Council urges all Imams and Khateebs this Friday 22nd of March 2019 to dedicate their Khutbah (Sermon) in addressing the recent mass shooting massacre and terrorist attack at two Mosques in the City of Christchurch - New Zealand. ANIC recommends the following points to be addressed: The attack on any Muslim or any innocent person anywhere around the world is an attack on all Muslims and all people. This is a human and an international tragedy, not only a Muslim and NZ tragedy. An attack on any mosque or any public place of worship is an attack on all mosques and all public places of worship. Our sympathy, support and solidarity to all our brothers and sisters in Christchurc. These are tests and trials that Allah (SWT) tests the believers with during every time and era. The importance of reaction in accordance to the Islamic code of conduct, the manners of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and in a civil manner without breaking the law or resorting to any form of violence. These acts of terror are there to divide us and the wider Australian people and we reject this in all its forms and ways, but rather we will stay united and strong. Attending mosques during these times must increase and not decrease and we urge all Muslims to be more brave and motivated during these times. The Muslim community in Australia must be commended and complimented for their Islamic and civil reaction over this recent tragedy. Encourage the community to be more proactive in more community engagements and the focus of building bridges with the wider Australian people. Muslims in Australia must be more vigilant and report any harassment or attack on them by calling or reporting to the authorities immediately. ANIC also urges all Mosques and Friday (Juma’a) venues to hold an Absent Funeral Prayer (Salatul Al-Janaza Gha’eb) on the lives of the Martyrs (Shuhuada’a) who were innocently killed in Christchurch. Finally, ANIC thanks all Imams, Khateebs and Community Leaders for their outstanding leadership, for their tireless efforts during these difficult and challenging times and for their cooperation. Kind Regards, Australian National Imams Council |
