NSW - AUSTRALIA Forges Stronger Trade Relations With The UAE

The Hon Niall Mark Blair, MLC, Minister for Trade and Industry for the Parliament of NSW says relations between NSW and the UAE are "full of promise" following last month's Dubai FDI Trade mission to Victoria and NSW hosted by the Australia Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

In a gathering at NSW Parliament House, Minister Blair commended AACCI on its commitment to strengthening ties with the UAE.

“The Australian-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AACCI) has been a valuable partner in advancing New South Wales' relations with the United Arab Emirates, our priority market in the Middle East, and with the region as a whole” Minister Blair said.

"NSW holds its relationship with the UAE in high regard. Ours is a trade and investment partnership that is full of promise for both jurisdictions. As I found on my official trade mission to the UAE in February 2018, there are great complementarities between our two growing, diversifying and innovative economies."

"I would like to thank AACCI, and particularly its NSW Chair Mohamed Hage, for its consistent support for the NSW Government's engagement with the UAE and the region. I look forward to continuing to work with Mohamed and AACCI to expand this fruitful and exciting relationship.”

The highly successful June Dubai FDI Mission focused predominantly on the NSW and Victorian markets and was a strong indicator of the potential to focus future missions on other States.  In his speech at the International Chamber House in Melbourne, President of the Australia Business Council of Dubai Mr Carl Dowling acknowledged the success of the mission and reiterated his commitment to future missions to include South Australia and other states.
