Canberra - M. E. TIMES Int'l: Dr.  Samir Geagea, the Leader of the Lebanese Forces Party continues his Australian tour, as he visited the Capital Canberra.

Immediately upon his arrival, He met with Arab Ambassadors at a honorary lunch hosted by Chargé d'affaires of the Lebanese Embassy, Giscard El-Khoury, in the presence of Egypt's Ambassador Mohamed Khairat, UAE' s Ambassador Dr. Obaid Alketbi, Kuwait's Ambassador Nageeb Al-Bader, Chargé d'affaires of Saudi Embassy Meshal Alrogi, Chargé d'affaires of Jordanian Embassy Adly Al-Khalidi, Chargé d'affaires of Qatari Embassy Fahd Al-Hamar and Chargé d'affaires of Libyan  Embassy Mahmoud Amer.

During a meeting with the leader of Opposition and a number of shadow ministers

During the meeting, Geagea said: "we have a strategic problem summarized in the fact that  the logic of the state is not respected inside Lebanon. In Communities, either there is a state or no state, there is no existence of what is called half state. In Lebanon, we actually see a Mini state alongside the state undermining  the strategic decision, and the peace or war decision, as well as doing whatever it wants. The results are reflected on the Lebanese people.

He added: "we, as Lebanese Groups, respect each other, and Lebanon can't be built without doing so, but we have to agree whether we want a state or not.

In response of a question, Geagea said: "First of all, we have to bear our responsibility in adopting clear stands. We can accept that Hezbollah remains a political party, but we can't accept it as an armed party which undermines  the state's decision".

During a meeting with a number of Arab Diplomatic in Canberra

With regard to the Iranian-Lebanese relations, and its effects on the relationship with Gulf states, Geagea said: "Unfortunately, this affects Lebanon, and the proof is clear in the Gulf trade volume, and the  number of tourists which deteriorate to their lowest level during the last four years. Iran is engaged in an active relations with Hezbollah, and merely a diplomatic relationship with Lebanon".

Answering a question raised by an Arab Ambassador about the worsening conditions in the region, Geagea said: "I expect more of that, as all parties have to play with all available cards. Difficult days are awaiting Lebanon and the whole region in light of the current situation".

During a meeting with the leader and members of Opposition

In response of the Egyptian Ambassador's question about the Egyptian-Lebanese relations and the situation in Syria, Geagea said: "the weakest factor in the Syrian war is the Syrian one which is completely absent as Iran and Russia are controlling things within the regime's locations. Without Iran, The Syrian regime would have fallen in the first months. In the other areas, the influence is shared among Americans, Russians, Turkey, and Jordan. This is the Syrian reality now. I think there is no possibility of Assad's survival in Syria".

Federal Parliament

Geagea met Ministers and MPs belonging to the ruling Liberal party, and the opposition's Leader including a number of shadow ministers.

Geagea briefed ministers and MPs on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region.

In the wake of making a tour within the parliament, Geagea entered the general chamber of the Parliament and attends a session about electricity that saw a sharp debate.

The Speaker of the Australian Parliament welcomes Geagea.
