Oman Vision 2040 main committee meets

MUSCAT: The Main Committee of Oman Vision 2040 on Monday held its 4th meeting under the chairmanship of HH Sayyid Haitham bin Tareq al Said, Minister of Heritage and Culture, Head of the Main Committee. The committee reviewed the meeting agenda, which included the Vision statement, the provisional pillars of development and the trends of the future development, which include the national strategy for urban development. Further, the committee highlighted the importance of the community outreach plan as social involvement in drafting Oman Vision 2040. The Committee also reviewed the provisional programme for the Vision’s National Conference scheduled to be held at the second half of 2018. It also discussed translating the vision into five-year development plans.

Additionally, the committee reviewed several case studies about the timetables required for the implementation of executive plans. The committee also discussed the formation of sectoral committees for the vision. These committees will cover man, society, economy and environment. It also touched on enhancing efficiency of institutional performance and community outreach. The committee also discussed other issues and took necessary decisions and recommendations towards them.
